This keto Cuban picadillo recipe is one of my favorite easy keto dinner ideas! I love making it – it’s so simple and the family loves it!
I just know your family is going to love it too. Even if your family hasn’t tried Cuban food before, this is a fun break from the monotony of other dinnertime recipes.
Easy Keto Dinner Ideas
Putting together a keto-friendly dinner for yourself and your family is easier than you might think! All you need to do is focus on serving meat and veggies. The hardest part is trying to figure out how to replace carbs since so many meals are full of them (especially potatoes).
This dinner has all of the classic picadillo flavors that I grew up on – you are going to love it! The best part is how the Sazon seasoning (see below for a homemade version) and the Cumin compliment the tart green olives. I love using white cooking wine in it because it really adds a slightly sweet flavor to the tomatoes and garlic.
The best part is that if you are pressed for time, you can use canned ingredients like I did. I always encourage people to use fresh ingredients when you can, but in this case, it’s ok to use canned.
Keto Spanish Food
This is a really easy one-skillet keto dinner that is packed with amazing tastes and flavors. In fact, you can serve this with a side of cauliflower rice and you have one seriously filling dinner for your entire family.
Low-Carb Cuban Food
Not only is this recipe low in carbs, but it doesn’t cost much to make either. I love how I can feed my family for such a low price. The most expensive ingredient in this meal is the ground beef!
Easy Cuban Picadillo
Do you know what picadillo is? It is a classic Cuban recipe that I grew up eating (and loving). Traditional picadillo is a thick stew made with ground beef and tomatoes and raisins for sweetness and olives for the salt. Families will alter recipes and create their own recipes and versions of it.
My version is low in carbs because I didn’t use and sugar or raisins. I still used the same spices and flavors and it still has that thick texture that I grew up loving.
Serve this stew with slices of avocado on top. On the side, you can serve a creamy cucumber salad or even an egg salad. This is perfect for dinner or a quick lunch. I like to spice mine up with some hot sauce or red pepper flakes!
Keto Ground Beef Recipes For Dinner
If you know how to chop up some veggies and brown ground beef, then you can make this recipe. It’s one of my favorites because you literally just cook everything in the same skillet.
You can also make it with grounded chicken or turkey. I’ve even seen recipes that use ground pork (chorizo).
This is perfect for meal prep. Store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for up to a week.
