I remember the first baby monitor I ever bought was when I had Evan. The only function it had was being able to listen in from the other room. There were always sound issues too. I was constantly checking on them and at times I found it pointless to have the monitor because the range just wasn’t enough in our big house, until one day where Dylan decided to climb out of his crib. I was downstairs doing laundry and if it wasn’t for that monitor I wouldn’t have reacted as fast as I did. When I heard the loud thud come through the monitor, I wish I could have seen his start to climb out instead of just hearing it. Scroll down to read the three important reasons why you need a baby monitor for your nursery.
I’m still the type of mom that is constantly checking on their kids, but by the time Joseph came around and video monitors existed, we lived in a smaller space and I worked from home, so I didn’t really see the need for a monitor. Fast forward to now, where I work full-time from home and we now have two baby girls who both suffered from acid reflux when they were born, and we’re living in a much bigger space, I HAD to have a baby monitor, because I wanted to be able to see and hear the girls at all times, even when I wasn’t home! Having a video monitor has been a game changer and it gave me a much-needed peace of mind. That, to me, is priceless!
Right now, I’m absolutely loving the Motorola 5″ Portable Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi®

Three Important Reasons Why You Need a Baby Monitor for Your Nursery
1.It monitors temperature (love that feature, especially down here in FL where it’s either too hot or cold when the AC is on). The temperature of the room your baby is in will be displayed on your screen for you to view.
2. Activity monitoring and expression detection. Olivia and Lauren had pretty bad reflux and before I had a video baby monitor, I barely got any sleep because I was constantly checking in on them once they went into their own room. Being able to see that they were resting comfortably meant everything to me!
3. 2-way communication is a life saver when I’m working! It allows me to sooth Lauren, who prefers to have me in the room with her when she sleeps. Motorola 5″ Portable Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi® has a picture-in-picture screen option allows you to see through multiple cameras on one screen and that’s worked wonderfully with Joseph and Olivia, who are both about to be transitioned to their big kid bed.
I think as a mom we all worry, it’s in our nature. If there’s anything on the market that allows us to try and make sure our babies are always safe, it’s a baby monitor! Put it at the top of your registry, you won’t regret it!
