Tangy and tasting just like takeout, keto sweet and sour pork is the perfect family dinner when you’re craving Chinese food.
Keto Sweet and Sour Pork
Bright red and green peppers sizzle with thinly-sliced pork in a sweet and sour sauce that smells so good you’ll think you’re in a Chinese restaurant. And it’s ready in less than 30 minutes!
It sounds too good to be true, but this recipe is a no-fail Chinese pork recipe that fits in with a keto diet. There are just 5 grams net carbs in each serving (and this recipe makes four servings).
Pork Stir Fry
You can call this dish either sweet and sour pork or pork stir fry. I like making stir fry recipes because you can throw in your leftover veggies and fry them up with the pork.
Chop up some broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, or mushrooms. Just remember that all veggies have carbs in them, so you’ll have to recalculate the carb count.
I used pork chops because they are easy to slice and I can usually find them on sale at the grocery store. Any cut of pork will work. Try this recipe with thinly-sliced pork loin.
It’s even more tender and tastes incredible in the stir fry.
Chinese Pork Recipe
Save this recipe, even if it’s just for the sweet and sour sauce ingredients. You can use this sauce on other things besides pork! It’s an irresistible combination of ketchup, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, ginger paste, and garlic and onion.
If you want it to taste a bit sweeter, add a teaspoon of Swerve brown sugar substitute. It really kicks the sauce up a notch!
Pork Meal Prep
This is the perfect recipe to use in your meal prep! All you have to do is keep it in a food storage container with a lid and put it in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to three days.
If you want the veggies to stay crispy, heat it back up on the stove.
What To Eat With Pork Chops
There are a lot of different sides you can make with sweet and sour pork. Start out with a copycat Olive Garden salad. It is bursting with fresh, tangy flavors.
For more veggies, make some keto Keto Sweet and Sour Pork Skillet recipe. It has lots of cheese and bacon and pairs with anything, even sweet and sour pork.
If you are going to be serving an Asian-inspired dinner, then I suggest making some keto bok choy stir fry with soy sauce eggs. This has the same umami flavors with bright green bok choy.
And start out your dinner with some keto egg drop soup – it’s a staple whenever I make Chinese food for dinner. Instead of a salad, I’ll serve some low-carb tuna sushi in a bowl. Same flavors but fewer carbs.
If you are going to serve this at a dinner for a lot of people, then you can make some crowd-pleasing keto deviled egg salad and some cauliflower potato salad. Both choices feed lots of people effortlessly.
