These easy keto chicken fritters are incredibly cheesy and budget-friendly too. The garlic aioli is incredible! With only 2g net carbs in each fritter, you’ll be able to eat a few of them for lunch or an easy snack.
What Are Chicken Fritters
If you aren’t from the south, then you probably aren’t familiar with the term fritter. A chicken fritter is a chicken that is breaded and then fried in oil. I have seen some people make chicken fritters that look and taste like chicken fingers or chicken nuggets.
They really are very similar to breaded and fried chicken strips.
My chicken fritters resemble fried chicken patties. They really hit the spot when I am craving deep-fried junk food but still want to nourish my body with healthy food.
Keto Chicken Fritters
The easiest way to make homemade keto chicken fritters is to use a can of chicken breast meat. Not only is this a wonderful way to save money, but you don’t have to cook the chicken first. So, it saves you time too!
Plus, the canned chicken is easier to form into patties than fresh chicken breast. I also use canned chicken to make this low carb jalapeno popper chicken salad and this chicken and broccoli salad.
Can you use fresh-cooked chicken instead of canned? Yes, this is a fantastic idea! Just make sure the chicken is diced up into really small pieces so that it sticks together in the form of a patty.
Save yourself time and do some prep work early. Mix all the chicken patty ingredients together and then form individual patties. Place them on a serving tray and seal it with a lid or food wrap. Store the uncooked patties in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Now all you have to do is fry them and they are ready for you to eat!
Garlic Aioli Keto-Friendly
This aioli sauce isn’t just keto-friendly, it is incredibly tasty too! I didn’t add any fresh herbs, but you can garnish it with some fresh parsley or dill. Use this sauce for the chicken fritters. It also tastes delicious on top of fish or as a dipping sauce for salmon patties.
Cheesy Chicken Fritters
These cheesy chicken fritters are a healthy snack, especially after a hard workout! They are a wonderful source of protein when you need it most. You can also serve them at parties as an appetizer.
If you are going to serve them as an appetizer, I suggest making the fritters bite-sized. Then, serve them on a tray with toothpicks.
Did you know you can cook these in the air fryer too? First, spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray. Then, place the fritters in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook them at 350F for about 10 minutes.
You will know they are fully cooked when the internal temperature is at least 165F.
Cheese Chicken Fritters Keto
I like to eat these keto chicken fritters for lunch. They are easy to store and use in your weekly meal prep. If you store them in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator, they will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
To make this a filling and nutritious lunch, serve the chicken fritters with egg salad or your favorite chopped green salad. You can also make some rosemary dinner rolls with them for a light dinner.
