Canned Salmon Patties
Since this recipe uses canned salmon, it’s a budget-friendly way to get more salmon in your diet. Salmon is what some people call a “super-food.” It is super high in protein and healthy fats known as omega-3 fatty acids.
Salmon is amazing for your brain, blood sugar, and immune system.
My other favorite way to cook salmon is to make an entire salmon in a foil packet.
Canned salmon is a lot less expensive than wild-caught fillets. When you are needing something that doesn’t cost a lot, make this easy recipe.
Garlic Salmon Patties
Salmon is an incredibly filling fish. You can also serve these patties as an appetizer or a snack. If you snack on them, you won’t be hungry for a long time. These little patties will fill you up!
To make them extra-crispy I used crushed pork rinds. This gives them the extra crunch without carbs. Pork rinds are a nearly carb-free ingredient, and I’ve used them before to make breading for air fryer pickle chips.
Pan-Seared Salmon Patties
Let me tell you, pan-searing is the way to go! It makes them really crispy and tastes amazing. As they cook, you will smell the garlic and herbs.
If you don’t like salmon (or don’t have any on-hand) you can also make this recipe with chicken or tuna. It still tastes just as delicious.
Use your favorite oil to fry them. I always use extra virgin olive oil because it has the perfect heating point for pan-searing. You could also use butter or avocado oil. I do not recommend using coconut oil because it doesn’t work nearly as well.
Best Low-Carb Salmon Patties
If you have kids, make sure you have enough for them to eat too. These are a kid-friendly recipe and they will want to eat some with you.
I like to serve my salmon patties with some keto coleslaw, avocado cucumber salad, or with garlic butter cauliflower rice for a complete dinner.
How Do You Keep Salmon Patties From Falling Apart?
Don’t leave out the egg. The egg is an emulsifier, so that is what keeps all of the ingredients together from falling apart. You also want to make sure you are not using too many pork rinds.
If you use too many, it could make the salmon patties too dry and crumble apart.
How To Store
I love to use these salmon patties in my meal prep for the week. Keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator and they will last up to 5 days.
