Sweet and Spicy Chicken Salad
There is something addicting about the combination of sweet and spicy flavors. I just love how Sriracha and honey go together, don’t you? I used this combo together with keto Sriracha salmon and thought it would taste just as delicious as a chicken salad.
The result was amazing! This chicken salad isn’t your typical chicken salad. Every bite is bursting with flavors. The fire from the Sriracha will light up your tongue first. Then, the sugar-free honey appears and rounds it all out in the best way.
This recipe will make you look forward to lunch!
Canned Chicken Salad
The keto diet gets this bad rap as being expensive. But if you do it right, you can actually eat pretty well on the cheap! One of my favorite ways to save money on keto is to make recipes with canned chicken.
Not only does it last for months in my pantry, but you can buy a lot of chicken for a low price.
This recipe doesn’t just save you money, but it saves you time as well. You don’t have to cook or chop up the chicken! Just add all the ingredients to a bowl, mix them up, grab a fork, and eat!
Can You Freeze Chicken Salad
Yes, you can freeze chicken salad, but I don’t recommend it. This recipe takes about 10 minutes to make – from start to finish. It takes longer than that for it to thaw after being frozen.
It isn’t worth it.
If you want to freeze chicken salad, I suggest storing it in a freezer-safe food storage bag and laying the bag on a baking sheet so it freezes flat. Otherwise, it might freeze in between the railings of a shelf or freezer around a bag of frozen veggies.
What To Eat With Chicken Salad
This is a bold and flavorful keto lunch idea! Eat it with a fork, serve it on top of a large piece of lettuce, or make some keto cloud bread and eat it like a sandwich.
For a sweet side dish, make keto strawberry cucumber salad on the side. You’ll love how the spicy Sriracha pairs with the sweet strawberries. Then, pour yourself a jar of keto sweet tea. Lunch is served!
Chicken Salad Toppings
What are your favorite things to sprinkle on top of chicken salad? Add them to this one, too! I like adding chopped green onions, some chopped bacon, and even diced hard boiled eggs.
Sometimes, I will sprinkle some shredded cheese on top. If you like spicy recipes, add some sliced jalapenos on top, too.
