The dry rub will light up your tastebuds! These keto air fryer fajita chicken wings are fried perfectly and make the best party food.
Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Have you discovered the joy of air fryer chicken wings yet? Since you don’t use oil, they turn out less greasy, but just as crispy as deep frying.
Plus, the clean-up is so much easier when you make chicken wings in the air fryer, too. Other than the texture, the flavor is what really makes these crispy chicken wings stand out!
They’re made with a smoky dry rub inspired by my favorite fajita recipes and I kept them mild enough for kids. If you want to amp up the heat, add some red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper.
Fajita Chicken Wings
There’s nothing quite like a classic fajita! The peppers, melted cheese, and meat – it’s all so delicious!
In fact, I love fajitas so much that I use these flavors and ingredient combos to make other recipes, too. Keto steak fajita foil packets are a cheesy delight and steak fajita skewers are perfect for cookouts and BBQs.
You can even skip the steak and make sheet pan shrimp fajitas, too. But this time, I took my favorite Mexican spices and created a dry rub for chicken wings.
The result is a bunch of chicken wings that taste like fajitas! They’re impossible to put down.
Keto Chicken Wings
Thankfully, these chicken wings aren’t breaded. Since I used a dry rub, they’re pretty much entirely protein.
There are some carbs in the skins and in the lime juice, so I made sure to note that in the carb count. Use this rub on any type of chicken wings that you like, you can even make boneless chicken wings with it!
If you don’t have olive oil, you can make the wings with avocado oil instead. It’s a healthy fat that’s high in Omega 3 fatty acids, so it’s really good for you.
Keto Game Day Food
Serve these fajita wings at your next game-watching party or take them to a tailgate. They’ll get gobbled up in no time at all! If you’re gonna serve them at a party, add some more finger foods to the menu.
How about some low-carb mozzarella stuffed meatballs? Or make some bacon-wrapped cheeseburger pickle poppers.
Or break away from meat and make some crispy keto cauliflower wings. They are full-flavored and will make you love cauliflower again.
How To Store Cooked Chicken Wings
They taste the best when you serve them hot and fresh out of the air fryer. If you want to use them in your meal prep or make them ahead, store them in an airtight food storage container and refrigerate them for no more than three days.
I suggest baking them to reheat them. They won’t be as crispy if you reheat them in the microwave.
