Keto Korean BBQ
Korean BBQ is a method of cooking that is a ton of fun! Have you ever experienced a Korean BBQ restaurant? You basically cook marinated meat over a hot grill right at your table.
As a busy mom, I made a few changes to this cooking method. Can you imagine an open flame in the middle of a table full of curious kiddos? Nope! Instead, I marinated the chicken wings in a scrumptious Korean BBQ sauce and then baked them.
If you want the authentic Korean BBQ experience, you can still grill the wings on a portable grill on your kitchen table or on an indoor grill at your stove. Even a grill pan on your stove will work.
Keto Korean BBQ Sauce
Since I baked the chicken wings, the flavor of the Korean BBQ is the most important thing. Make sure that you marinate the chicken overnight for the flavors to really infuse deep into the meat.
You want every bite to be filled with bursts of salty, sweet, and tangy flavors. The secret to my keto Korean BBQ sauce is a combination of sugar-free honey and Swerve brown sugar substitute.
When you use both of them, you get a fantastic caramelization on the chicken. It crisps up really well in the oven!
BBQ Wings Keto
It might be shocking, but there really is just 1 gram net carbs in each serving! These will soon become your favorite BBQ chicken wings of all time. Make a huge batch and take them to your next tailgate or party.
They taste the best when you serve them hot and fresh out of the oven. If you want to use them in your meal prep or make them ahead, store them in an airtight food storage container and refrigerate them for no more than three days.
I suggest baking them to reheat them. They won’t be as crispy if you reheat them in the microwave.
Keto Chicken Wings
There are a few ways to change this recipe to suit your tastes. You can chop up chicken breast tenderloins into smaller pieces and make boneless wings. If you want them to taste spicier, add more ginger paste and red pepper flakes.
To make them less spicy, don’t add any red pepper flakes.
What To Eat With Chicken Wings
What you eat with these sweet and spicy wings depends on when you are eating them. If you are going to serve them at a game day party, then I suggest adding a side of keto fried pickles with cheese.
They will provide a wonderful contrasting texture to the sticky wings. Or, add some low-carb BBQ bacon wrapped pickles on the table. They have both sweet and tangy flavors all mixed together.
If you are going to eat these chicken wings for lunch or dinner, I suggest adding some cauliflower fried rice to your plate. It’s a classic side dish that pairs really well with the chicken wings.
Serve some keto egg drop soup as a light starter before your meal – then dinner tonight is ready!
