This Keto Breakfast Burger is a mashup of a cheeseburger and a breakfast sandwich. Fried egg tops a tasty cheeseburger – and it’s surprisingly keto-friendly.
What Is A Breakfast Burger
A breakfast burger is a delicious burger that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It consists of a hamburger patty topped with melted cheese, sliced avocado, and a fried egg, served on a keto-friendly hamburger bun.
Bacon and eggs are popular breakfast foods. So, when you add them to a fried cheeseburger, it becomes a breakfast burger.
But don’t let the name fool you. This burger is just as delicious at 8 pm as it is at 8 am.
Keto Breakfast Burger
Is your body craving protein? This burger is just the thing you need!
The hamburger meat, cheese, bacon, and egg are all fantastic sources of protein. And with all these ingredients, you’ll be thrilled to know that there are only 6 grams net carbs in each burger.
If you want to lower the carbs, wrap the burgers in lettuce wraps. Most of the carbs are from the low-carb hamburger buns.
And cook the eggs to your liking. Some people love it when the egg yolk is slightly runny and soaks into the cheeseburger meat.
Other people prefer fully-cooked eggs. Make it how you like it!
Keto Hamburger Buns
Use your favorite keto-friendly hamburger buns in this recipe. Aldi’s has some affordable delicious low-carb buns.
You have other options, too, if you want. Use low-carb tortillas as a wrap. Or, wrap everything up in a large piece of lettuce.
You could also chop up the ingredients and put them in a bowl to make a keto breakfast burger bowl.
Breakfast Sides
Since this can be enjoyed for any meal that you want, here are some of my favorite side dish ideas. If you’re going to eat it for breakfast, make some Keto Ricotta Pancakes or 90 second Keto French Toast on the side with it.
You don’t have to eat it for breakfast, though! If you want to enjoy an egg-topped cheeseburger for lunch or dinner, make some bacon avocado fries, cauliflower rice, or radish salad on the side.
You can never go wrong with crispy Keto Zucchini Fritters. They are crunchy and delicious!
How To Store Cooked Hamburger Patties
Save yourself time and make the cheeseburgers ahead of time. Store the cooked hamburger patties in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Then, all you have to do is reheat them, fry the eggs and arrange the burgers. It’s so easy!
