Keto Au Gratin
Hey cheese-lovers, this one is for you! If you can’t get enough of alfredo or cheese-covered dishes, then you’ve got to make this rich and creamy shrimp dish.
Have you heard of au gratin recipes? Most people have heard of au gratin potatoes.
Well, the idea for this shrimp recipe is pretty similar.
Au gratin is a French word that describes any dish that is sprinkled with bread crumbs or grated cheese and then browned. It’s usually baked, but I’ve seen au gratin recipes made in the air fryer or even on the stove and then broiled.
This shrimp au gratin is baked with a crispy topping that keeps the cheese sauce nice and hot.
Shrimp Au Gratin
From Keto Broccoli and Cauliflower Au Gratin With Sausage to Keto Au Gratin Brussels Sprouts and even Keto Cabbage Au Gratin, There is no denying how delicious baking veggies with cheese can be.
This time, I replaced the veggies with some tender shrimp, and the results were even better!
This keto shrimp has a distinct flavor that will take your tastebuds on a journey. The combination of basil, garlic, and nutmeg give it an amazing aroma that will make you want to dig in with a fork as soon as you take it out of the oven!
Keto Garlic Shrimp
Even though you can usually swap out garlic powder or garlic salt for fresh garlic, in this case I suggest only using fresh garlic. You want that flavor and aroma to be strong.
Otherwise, it will taste like mostly cream and cheese.
I also suggest mincing fresh basil if you have it but the basil isn’t as important as the garlic. You can use either fresh or dried basil in this recipe.
What To Eat With Shrimp
Keto garlic shrimp au gratin is a classic Italian recipe, so to make a full meal for your family you just have to add a few sides. Start out with a salad!
How To Store Cooked Shrimp
This cheesy keto shrimp au gratin is a perfect thing to add to your weekly meal prep. Store a serving of it in your meal prep airtight container. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to three days.
In that time, the cream and cheese might harden a bit. All you have to do is heat it up in the microwave or on the stove and the sauce will melt again.
