Layers of meat, cheese, and your favorite marinara sauce – this keto TikTok protein lasagna replaces pasta in the best way!
Is Lasagna Keto
Typical lasagna that is made with pasta is not keto-friendly. All those noodles add up to way too many carbs.
Thankfully, there are a bunch of different ways to fix low-carb variations of lasagna that will keep you within your macros.
Meat, cheese, and marinara sauce can be keto-friendly in the right quantities. You just have to be careful with how many tomatoes and sauce you use. Tomatoes are higher in carbs than other types of fruit or veggies. And always make sure the marinara sauce is sugar-free.
Protein Lasagna
What is protein lasagna? This is a recipe that started on TikTok. Once I found it, I had to make my own version, and it’s so tasty you don’t miss the noodles!
Keto protein lasagna is made with layers of deli turkey, cottage cheese, ground beef, lots of cheese, and some sugar-free marinara sauce.
It tastes just like traditional marinara, but it has so much protein that it will fuel your body and keep it in fat-burning mode. Plus, this recipe makes an incredible eight servings, with 5 grams net carbs in each serving!
Best Meat In Lasagna
I used ground beef as the main type of meat in this recipe and deli turkey as the pasta to separate the layers. This recipe will taste delicious with ground pork, Italian sausage, or even ground turkey or chicken.
If you use ground turkey or chicken, I suggest adding more spices to the meat. They are lower in fat, so they don’t have as much flavor as ground beef or sausage.
What To Eat With Lasagna
A plate of savory keto protein lasagna will fill you up, so you don’t have to make very many sides to go along with it. If you want, add a bowl of low-carb seven layer salad to the table. It’s packed with lettuce, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, and more.
Or enjoy some low-carb million dollar deviled eggs on the side. They are high-protein and have lots of similar flavors, too. They are a fantastic choice for lunch or a party.
I love making keto crack biscuits on the side with creamy pasta recipes! Dip the biscuits into the sauce. It’s divine.
Lasagna Without Noodles
When you think of lasagna as layered meat, cheese, and sauce, then you can make all sorts of different types of keto-friendly lasagna-inspired recipes.
If you need to eat more vegetables, then making keto lasagna stuffed peppers is a tasty way to do just that. They are extremely cheesy and filled with tasty ingredients.
For another high-protein option, you can make keto lasagna stuffed sausage. That recipe doesn’t involve any pasta either.
You can also make keto eggplant lasagna if you’re in the mood to try something different. The eggplant has a unique texture, so it isn’t a perfect replacement for pasta.
Or you can even make keto lasagna roll ups to serve at a party or eat as a quick lunch.
