You know those busy weeknights where you just can’t think of what to cook and you really don’t have time to stand over the stove? This recipe is perfect for those days. After just 15 minutes of prep and 20 minutes of cooking, dinner is ready!
Best Keto Chicken Teriyaki
Teriyaki chicken is a dinnertime staple. It’s so easy to make that you can put this on your family’s monthly menu and everyone will love it. When you replace honey with Swerve brown sugar substitute, you have a meal that everyone – even you – can eat together. It’s amazing!
If you have ever made chicken teriyaki before, then you can make this recipe. It’s just as easy and takes almost no time at all.
Keto Fast Food Alternative
Have you ever added up how much time it takes to order food and have it delivered? It can take an hour sometimes. This recipe tastes just like takeout but is ready even faster!
My family thinks it tastes even better than Chinese fast food. The broccoli has a fresh crisp to it and the sauce has a bolder flavor. Instead of ordering your food, make this for everyone. It’s so much healthier and just as easy.
Keto Teriyaki Sauce
Traditional teriyaki sauce is made with lots of sugar. It’s not keto at all! When I made my own, I was so excited to finally have an option without all the sugar.
Here’s what I used in my sauce:
- Soy Sauce
- Swerve Brown Sugar Substitute
- Ginger Paste
It tastes amazing. Save this sauce recipe. You can use it again on beef, pork, seafood, or tossed with zoodles. The options are endless.
Easy Healthy Chicken Teriyaki
From the lean protein in the chicken to the nutrients in the green broccoli, this meal is filling and healthy. It’s an entire meal in one pan – less clean up too!
Add some cauliflower florets or cauliflower rice to make it even healthier. Your kids and family might want to eat some brown rice with it.
Did you know ginger paste is actually good for you too? Ginger is really good for your gut health and is known to have anti-inflammatory properties too. If someone in your family has a sensitive stomach, they will enjoy this teriyaki sauce because it has ginger paste in it.
How To Meal Prep Chicken Teriyaki
This is the perfect meal to save in the refrigerator and use for meal prep throughout the week. To do this, just follow the recipe instruction and then let it cool. Separate it into sealed plastic or glass containers and keep it in the refrigerator. It will last about 4 days in the refrigerator. The broccoli will become softer the longer it sets in the fridge, so eat it as soon as you can.
Recipe Variations
There are a few different ways you can change this recipe. Add any vegetables that you like to the skillet. You can add anything from sliced carrots to peppers and green beans. Remember that even vegetables have carbs, so if you add more vegetables you’ll have to track those carbs on the keto diet.
I like to eat this recipe with cauliflower rice while my family enjoys it with brown rice.
How To Store Chicken Teriyaki
The best way to store this recipe is in the refrigerator. You can also make a chicken teriyaki freezer meal and store it in the freezer. It will last about 4 months in the freezer.
To do this, just follow these steps:
- Completely cook the chicken, cut it up, and let it cool.
- Combine all the ingredients in a sealed freezer bag.
- Lay it flat in your freezer.
- When you are ready to bake it, let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Then fry it on the stove.
If your freezer shelf has slits in it, lay the freezer bag on a baking tray first so it freezes solid. If you don’t, the liquid will droop between the slits of the shelf and expand as it freezes, making the bag get stuck.
