This keto bang bang cauliflower has serious flavor! It makes the best snack or appetizer – learn how to make your own bang bang sauce from scratch. It tastes so much better than anything you can buy in the store.

What Is Bang Bang Sauce

Have you heard of the restaurant “Bonefish Grill”? They have an appetizer called “Bang Bang Shrimp” and this sauce is what coats the shrimp. It has a really sweet undertone on top of spicy notes – thanks to the sugar and chili sauce that they use.

Instead of using honey, I made a low-carb version – and I think you are going to love it! 

Easy Bang Bang Cauliflower

This cauliflower side dish tastes restaurant-made! When you serve it at a party, everyone will be asking for your recipe. The cauliflower comes out crispy and the sauce is both sweet and spicy at the same time.

It’s a really simple dish to make too. It does involve frying the breaded cauliflower in oil, so get a deep enough pan. Also, if you notice the oil spitting at you, turn the heat down a bit. That means the oil is getting too hot. 

Low Carb Bang Bang Sauce

My biggest tip about the sauce is to use fresh ingredients. Fresh-squeeze lime juice tastes so much better than jarred lime juice.

You can also use avocado mayo if you need to eat more healthy fats in your diet. As for the sweetener, I used Swerve granular because it dissolved really well with the liquid ingredients. You could also use liquid sweetener in its place.

Being on the keto diet, it’s important to create fun and new ways to eat low-carb veggies. Cauliflower is one of the vegetables with the least amount of carbs.

If you are tired of eating cauliflower rice or steamed cauliflower, give this recipe a shot. It doesn’t even taste like boring cauliflower! 

What To Serve With Bang Bang Cauliflower

This is a very healthy side dish that adds flavor and color to your dinner table. 

I don’t know if you have noticed, but I just love Asian/Chinese-inspired recipes. This bang bang cauliflower will go really well with any of them. Start out with your favorite soup – either keto egg roll soup, egg drop soup, or (my favorite) keto ramen soup.

Then, it’s time for the main course! since this is kind of an appetizer, serve it with low-carb Thai chicken salad or low-carb Asian slaw. I think my low-carb chicken cauliflower fried rice is the perfect entree to round it all out. 

When you serve all of this together, you have a really filling (and fun) meal. 

Crispy Bang Bang Cauliflower

What makes the cauliflower crispy is coating it in almond flour and frying it in oil. I prefer to fry it in vegetable oil, but you can use avocado oil instead. 

This crispy bang bang cauliflower makes a great appetizer or snack. If I am craving something sweet and spicy, I’ll reach for these.

Make them fresh. Since they are fried in a breading, they won’t stay crispy in the refrigerator for very long. The longer you keep them in the fridge, the softer they will become. 

You should also try making this with shrimp! Just coat the shrimp with the same breading, fry it, and toss it in the sauce. It’s delicious! 

Keto Bang Bang Cauliflower Recipe

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

Crispy Cauliflower

Large Head Of  Cauliflower
Egg
Heavy Cream
Parsley
Almond Flour
Parmesan Cheese

Keto Bang Bang Sauce

Mayonnaise
Chili Paste
Swerve Sweetener
Sriracha
Lime Juice

Instructions:

Start out by adding an egg and heavy cream or milk to a small bowl. In a medium bowl add almond flour and Parmesan and whisk together until fully combined.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Once your cauliflower is cut into bite size pieces, dip cauliflower in egg wash and once fully coated remove and shake a few times to remove any excess egg drippings.

Dip cauliflower piece into the breading mixture and be sure to fully coat, apply a little pressure to ensure the breading sticks well to the cauliflower.

Place onto your baking sheet and repeat with remaining cauliflower pieces.

Place enough oil into a pot so that it comes up to about 1 1⁄2 inches and turn on heat until oil reaches 350 degrees. Once the oil reaches the desire temperature place a few pieces of cauliflower into the oil at a time, tossing until bites are a golden brown.

Remove the cauliflower and place on a baking sheet lined with paper towel to absorb the excess oil.

While the cauliflower is cooling prepare the bang bang sauce by adding all ingredients into a small bowl. If you prefer less spicy feel free to use less sriracha sauce.

Drizzle bang sauce over the cauliflower bites and enjoy!
