Take your favorite deviled egg salad and flavor it like French onion soup. Now you’ve got keto French onion egg salad – a perfect lunch!
French Onion Egg Salad
The flavors of French Onion soup are pretty recognizable. You’ve got the onions in a zesty beef broth.
So, how do you combine these flavors with egg salad? You follow this recipe!
There are two ingredients that make it taste like French Onion soup – Worcestershire sauce and French Fried Onions. Normally, French Fried Onions are not keto-friendly.
That’s why I used only 2 tablespoons in the entire recipe – and it makes 6 servings. There are 6 grams net carbs in each serving.
If you’re not on-board with eating processed fried onions, try these gluten free, keto keto friendly crispy fried onions. They are just as tasty and crispy.
Deviled Egg Salad
A tray of Deviled eggs is always a party pleaser! The only downside is that deviled eggs don’t store very well.
They last maybe two days – tops! That’s why I like to make egg salad with deviled eggs. You still get the same flavors, but the egg salad version lasts up to four days in the refrigerator.
I took my favorite deviled egg salad and gave it a fun little twist. With a few additional ingredients.
This classic recipe tastes completely different! The fried onions add wonderful texture, and the Worcestershire sauce gives it a zing!
Keto Egg Salad
Grab a fork and dig in! This salad is ready to eat! If you want to eat it as a wrap, use a large piece of lettuce or romaine heart.
You can also grab your favorite kind of keto-friendly bread and eat it like a sandwich. I like to keep hardboiled eggs in my refrigerator all the time so I can make a salad whenever the urge hits me.
An egg salad is the perfect lunch because it’s so filling and so easy to make.
What To Eat With Egg Salad
This is a high-protein lunch, so I suggest eating it with a high-fiber, vegetable side salad or soup. It’ll taste delicious with a bowl of low-carb cottage cheese salad.
And the French Onion flavors will taste perfect with a bowl of low-carb Shepherd’s pie soup. Or for something even lighter, make keto turmeric zucchini soup.
If you have some leftover keto green bean casserole bundles, heat them up! They taste amazing with the egg salad or munch on some keto copycat Olive Garden Breadsticks with the creamy egg salad.
How To Store Egg Salad
You can save yourself a lot of time by hard boiling all of your eggs ahead of time. Store hardboiled eggs in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Then, after you make the salad, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Do not freeze this salad. It will change the texture and – trust me – it won’t be as appetizing. It tastes so much better when you serve it fresh.
