These keto Philly cheesesteak foil packets are the easiest dinner you will ever make. Plus, clean-up is a breeze too.
What Is In A Philly Cheesesteak
The classic Philly cheesesteak is a sandwich that has been around for almost 100 years, since the 1930s. It is usually served on a toasted hoagie roll and filled with tender ribeye steak, lots of melted mozzarella cheese, and sweet sauteed onions.
It’s called a cheesesteak because cheese covers the tender steak slices. Some versions will also include sauteed bell peppers.
Philly Cheesesteak Foil Packets
Since you will cook all of the ingredients in foil packets, you can cook this on an outdoor grill, indoor grill, or in your oven. You can also make them in the air fryer.
It will take about the same amount of time to cook your foil packets no matter which method you choose. If you want to make them in the air fryer, cook the foil packets at 400F for about 25 minutes.
Keto Philly Cheesesteak
I love all the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak. There are so many different twists you can do while still keeping the same steak and cheese combination. I’ve made mini Philly cheesesteak bites and a Philly cheesesteak soup – and both of them are low-carb and keto-friendly.
If you want to make something for your meal prep, then these Philly cheesesteak rollups are perfect! They are crispy and easy to pack in a lunch box. These Philly cheesesteak foil packets are also perfect for your meal prep too!
Store leftovers in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days. After about three days some of the veggies will soak up the juice from the steak and it won’t be nearly as delicious as it was when it was fresh out of the foil packets.
Keto Chicken Philly Cheesesteak
Use any type of steak that you want in these foil packets. I like top sirloin because it is so tender, but you can also use chicken breast, chicken thighs, or some pork tenderloin.
In fact, pork or chicken are lighter meats with less saturated fat, so they might be a better choice for some people.
Keto Foil Packets
If you haven’t discovered the joy of cooking with foil packets, then you are in for a treat! It’s really easy to throw together and then clean-up is a cinch! I’ve made a few other foil packet recipes that I loved.
I made keto steak broccoli and chicken foil packet and lemon and asparagus foil packets. They are perfect for beginning cooks or those days when you don’t have time to baby the stove or the oven.
