This keto queso blanco is the perfect copycat Applebee’s dip. Remake this popular appetizer for your next party or snack.

Is Queso Keto
This is a tough question to answer because it depends on how it is made. The online nutrition menu from Applebee’s provides the nutrition information for the dip with the chips and there are 83 grams of carbs per serving.

Their online nutrition facts list out the ingredients and there are hidden carbs in it. Things like potato starch and powdered cellulose to prevent caking.
Homemade queso is usually made from melting cheese and adding cream or milk to thin it out and some peppers to spice it up. At the most basic level, queso is a keto-friendly snack or appetizer.
Copycat Applebee’s Queso Blanco
I only used eight simple ingredients to replicate the spicy and creamy queso blanco dip from Applebee’s. I think the jalapeno I used made it plenty spicy, but if you want it to have even more of a kick, I suggest adding some poblano peppers as well.

Instead of a Roma tomato, sprinkle some Ro-Tel tomatoes into the queso. If you don’t like how cilantro tastes, I suggest using fresh parsley instead, or just leaving it out entirely.
Cheese is another ingredient you can change easily. I used mild cheese, but you can use a spicy pepper jack or jalapeno-flavored cheese instead.
Keto Queso Blanco
I made this queso dip in a saucepan on the stove. The entire thing only takes about 15 minutes to make, so it’s a perfect last-minute appetizer that is easy to throw together.

This dip doesn’t save well. I suggest making just enough that you know you (or your party) will eat.
If you try to save it in the refrigerator, it will solidify and be difficult to scoop out and melt again.
There are a lot of different ways to eat this dip, too! Drizzle it on top of your favorite bowl of chili or add it on top of some steamed broccoli or cauliflower.
Best Keto Chips
Serve this dip with these keto chili lime tortilla chips. They are really easy to make and bake, and taste amazing when you eat them with the easy queso dip.

If you need a boost of healthy fats, make some keto avocado chips with this queso.
You could also buy tortilla chips, Quest make some fantastic flavors that will taste delicious with this dip. Mr. Tortilla has some salty tortilla chips that only have 3 grams net carbs per serving as well.
Make-Ahead Queso Dip
If you are going to serve this at a party, make it in a slow cooker. Then, you can keep it hot throughout the entire party.

I suggest you use a CrockPot liner, that way the cheese doesn’t stick to the bottom or sides of your slow cooker.
To make it in the slow cooker, add all the ingredients and stir it frequently. Cook it on the lowest temperature or setting for up to four hours.
