This is the easiest way to cook green beans for a crowd. Low-Carb Crock Pot green beans are lightly flavored with garlic and onions for a flavor everyone will enjoy.

Yes, green beans are a fantastic choice to eat and cook with on a keto diet. According to the USDA, 100g of green beans contains 4g of net carbs.

They are high in fiber (which is good for your gut) and an excellent source of antioxidants. Plus, they have a mild, slightly-sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with almost any main course. 

The most important thing to remember is to always measure and record your carbs and macros. These green beans will fit in with any meal you make.

In fact, this recipe is the perfect one to make for really large family dinners. If you’re going to be feeding a crowd of people, double or triple the recipe. 

Low-Carb Green Beans 

These simple green beans were inspired by my low-carb slow cooker green beans and ham recipe. The main difference is that this one doesn’t have ham. I also adjusted a few of the herbs and spices, too.

Low Carb Crockpot Green Beans

These green beans are ideal with any entree that you make. Go with something with fall ingredients, like my Low-Carb Autumn Chicken and Rice Soup.

Or serve them with a rich, Low Carb Cheesy White Cheddar Kielbasa Skillet. The green beans will also taste fantastic with Keto Kung Pao Kielbasa.

For dessert, make either No Bake Keto Pumpkin Cake Balls or Low Carb Ricotta Banana Bread.

Crock Pot Green Beans 

This is a perfect recipe to make ahead. Then, you just have to heat it up before you serve it! Or use the green beans and bacon in you meal prep throughout the week.

 Store your leftovers in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated. The green beans and bacon will stay fresh for up to three days.

I suggest eating them as soon as possible if you want them to taste the  best. You can also freeze the green beans, too. They will stay fresh in the freezer for about 4-6 months. 

How Long To Slow Cook Green Beans 

Is it better to use fresh, frozen, or canned green beans in this recipe? Since they will be cooking for about four hours, I suggest using fresh green beans.

Low Carb Crockpot Green Beans

They will take longer to cook, which will prevent them from overcooking. 

And remember to cook the bacon before you add it to the green beans. If you want the bacon to remain crispy, add it right before you serve the green beans.

What is the best kind of onions to cook with green beans? I prefer to use white onion. It’s milder and will blend in with the rest of the ingredients better. 

Low-Carb Slow Cooker Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients 

  • Fresh green beans, trimmed
  • Smoked bacon, chopped
  • Onion, diced
  • Garlic, minced
  • Chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Wash and trim the green beans. Chop the bacon and dice the onion.

Add the green beans, bacon, onion, and garlic to the crockpot. Pour the broth over the top and stir in the salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the green beans are tender.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds Fresh Green Beans trimmed
  • 4 slices Smoked Bacon chopped
  • 1 small Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash and trim the green beans. Chop the bacon and dice the onion.
  • Add the green beans, bacon, onion, and garlic to the crockpot. Pour the broth over the top and stir in the salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
