And that’s why I made this recipe. It’s both filling enough to serve by itself for lunch and tasty enough to add to the dinner table as a side dish.
There are five grams net carbs in each serving, so be careful with what else you eat with it.
This recipe couldn’t be any easier! It’s honestly as easy as adding everything to the slow cooker and then eating it later.
Green Beans and Ham
Yes, green beans are higher in net carbs than other types of vegetables. But you’ll love the flavors in this easy recipe!
If you feel like mixing it up, there are a bunch of ways to change it. It’s a very mild recipe, so add some red pepper flakes if you want to make it spicier.
And I cooked the green beans in bacon grease for extra flavor. But, go even further and top with more bacon! That will take them from delicious to out-of-this-world amazing.
Slow Cooker Ham
This recipe only uses about a cup of cubed ham. That’s not much! You don’t need very much ham but you can use more if you want.
It will taste just as delicious if you double how much ham you add. Another tip I love sharing is to use a slow cooker liner.
If you accidentally cook it too long, some of the green beans might get stuck to the slow cooker. Using a liner will make it a lot easier to clean up.
What To Eat With Ham
Whether you’re making a keto baked ham for dinner or serving this hearty green bean recipe, there are some things that really taste perfect with ham.
Since ham is a sweeter type of meat, you’ll want to add some savory sides to the table with it.
Serve it with some keto cauliflower fried rice. It has umami flavors that balance out the sweetness from the ham. If you’d rather add a salad to the table, then make either low-carb chicken broccoli salad or copycat Olive Garden Salad.
How To Store Ham
If you have leftover ham and green beans, use them in your meal prep this week! They taste even better when you reheat them.
Store your leftovers in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated. The green beans and ham will stay fresh for up to three days.
I suggest eating them as soon as possible if you want them to taste the best.
