Juicy, zesty, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors, keto souvlaki chicken skillet is an easy meal that wakes up your tastebuds.
What Is Souvlaki Chicken
This is a classic Greek dinner recipe. Souvlaki means “meat on skewers.” If you ordered souvlaki chicken at a Greek restaurant, you’d probably get chicken skewers. Traditionally, souvlaki chicken is flavored with rosemary, paprika, lemon juice, and olive oil.
I took all the classic souvlaki chicken ingredients and turned it into a simple skillet recipe.
Keto Souvlaki Chicken
You can make this recipe on skewers or in a skillet – either way works! The wonderful thing about making souvlaki chicken in a skillet is that you don’t have to worry about handling all the raw chicken and putting it on the skewers.
Instead, you just add the chicken to the skillet and cook it.
The secret to a really juicy chicken that you cook on a skillet is to marinate the chicken first. I suggest letting it marinate for at leat 30 minutes, but preferably overnight.
The longer you let it marinate, the better the flavors will soak into the chicken.
Easy Chicken Skillet
You’ll fall in love with all the fresh colors in this tasty chicken skillet dinner! The mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and zucchini make this meal super healthy and high in fiber while still keeping it low-carb.
There are just 4 grams net carbs in each serving.
Don’t forget to top the chicken with tzatziki sauce. It’s a creamy sauce with fresh dill and brightens the entire dish.
Greek Chicken
After making a really easy keto Greek chicken salad bowl, I wanted to explore the Greek flavors even more – and that’s how I discovered souvlaki chicken! The feta cheese and fresh rosemary all taste like you’re eating this meal on a Greek island.
To make it a completely Greek meal, start out with a Keto Greek cucumber salad. Your taste buds will thank you.
What To Eat With Chicken
Souvlaki chicken is incredibly flavorful. Since it’s filled with a bunch of veggies, it’s also a really filling entree, so you don’t need to add a bunch of different side dishes with it.
For something cold, add some easy keto broccoli salad to the table. Or, if you enjoy Mediterranean flavors, then make some keto Greek cauliflower rice. It’s filled with fresh veggies, just like the chicken is.
This Greek chicken will also taste delicious with some bacon and green beans. If you want to add something to the table that reminds you of bread, I suggest adding garlic knots, or keto breadsticks.
