Fancy enough for parties and tasty enough for mid-meal snacks, keto walnut bacon brie bites are the ultimate low-carb munchy.
Brie Bites
Have you ever tried brie before? It’s a super unique type of cheese that doesn’t taste like anything else.
It’s buttery and creamy – creamier than fresh mozzarella cheese. It has a mild flavor, so even picky eaters like it.
How it tastes really depends on how ripe it is. It will either be buttery, earthy, savory, or nutty.
The flavors don’t really change all that much. But I know one thing – when you to top them with caramelized walnuts and fresh rosemary, the cheese tastes even better!
Brie Cheese With Walnuts
Since brie has a nutty flavor, it tastes amazing with some nuts on top! Walnuts are my favorite low-carb nuts because they are low in carbs and high in healthy fats.
They have a buttery texture that goes really well with almost anything. There are only 2 grams net carbs in each ounce of walnuts.
And since you don’t end up using very many walnuts on top of each brie bite, there is only 1 carb per brie bite! It’s such a fun little appetizer and will keep you within your macros.
Bacon Brie
Bacon makes everything better! These brie bites don’t need any help, but bacon ties the sweet nuts in with the savory cheese.
It’s the perfect addition to the brie bites. In fact, you can save yourself a lot of time by making them ahead of time.
Crumble them up and put them in an airtight container. Keep them in the fridge until you make the brie bites.
Can you use turkey bacon instead of pork? Yes, you can! It will taste really good with either one.
You won’t even notice a difference.
Keto Appetizers
These little bite-sized cheese appetizers look so beautiful that you’ll be proud to show them off at your party. Serve them with some Keto salami cream cheese roll-ups and no one will even be able to tell that they are low-carb.
I have a bunch of low-carb party foods that you can make. Start out with keto charcuterie jars or keto Italian pinwheels.
For something sweet, make either keto Reese’s dip or keto air fryer cinnamon sugar twists or both!
And every party needs a low-carb party platter. Add some Keto boursin roll-ups to the platter for a full tray.
Make Ahead Appetizer
Can you make brie bites ahead of time? Yes, you can!
But I would wait to put the nuts and bacon on top. Add the topping just a few seconds before you serve them.
This way they won’t change the texture of the top of the brie squares.I suggest serving the brie bites with some minor forks or butter knives.
They are kinda sticky when you pick them up, so prevent your guests from getting their fingers sticky.
