Eat your favorite cheeseburgers like a hot dog! These keto cheeseburger dogs are a fun way to grill up your favorite food. And don’t forget to add the toppings!

What Are Cheeseburger Dogs
Have you ever made homemade hamburgers before? You know, grabbing some raw ground beef and smashing it into thin patties?

If you have, then you know how to make cheeseburger dogs but instead of making flat patties, you roll the ground beef into a hot dog shape. And since it’s raw beef, you’ll need to cook it until the internal temperature reaches at least 165F.
Basically, cheeseburger dogs are hamburgers in the shape of hot dogs. It’s a creative and fun way to eat a familiar food.
Keto Cheeseburger Dogs
Cheeseburger dogs are easily low-carb. It’s the buns that you have to worry about. The toppings have minimal amount of carbs.

But even with the buns and toppings, there are still only 4 grams net carbs in each one. That’s a really low-carb dinner, giving you plenty of carbs to use for the sides.
I love making cheeseburger dogs and prefer them to processed hot dogs.
Hot dogs are higher in salt and other ingredients. These only have three simple ingredients – the ground beef, American cheese, and seasonings.
Burger Hot Dog
If you’re trying to eat less processed food, then I suggest adding real cheddar cheese to the burger dogs instead of American cheese.

And while I normally suggest swapping ground chicken or turkey for the beef, in this case I suggest sticking with the beef.
Ground poultry won’t stick together as well and it doesn’t have as much flavor. If you want to make them ahead of time, store them (without the toppings) in an airtight container.
Keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days. Then heat them back up in the air fryer so they stay crispy.
Best Cheeseburger Toppings
What do you like to add on top of your favorite burgers? Use them on top of the cheeseburger dogs, too!

Here are some of my favorite cheeseburger toppings:
- diced onions
- queso
- saurekraut
- ketchup
- shredded lettuce
- dill pickle relish
- keto Big Mac sauce
And don’t forget to serve them with your favorite sides. Make some keto fried pickles with cheese or a bowl of keto potato salad with cauliflower.
Best Keto Hot Dog Buns
There are so many options out there. Read the ingredients label closely to make sure you like what they’re made of.

Some brands like to use wheat or corn fiber to bring the net carbs lower. So watch out for that! If you want, you can make homemade keto bread with almond flour.
