This sweet and crispy keto pumpkin smoothie is as filling and rich and pumpkin pie, but each one only has 5 grams net carbs.
Keto Smoothie
A smoothie is literally the easiest breakfast you can make on the keto diet. All you do is put everything into a blender and pulse it until it’s all combined.
Breakfast is ready in just a few minutes and not just that, but it’s healthy and filling too! The Greek yogurt is so thick and high in protein that it will keep you feeling full until your next meal.
This is the perfect smoothie to make in the fall, when you see all the pumpkin everything, everywhere! And when you want to add some variety to your smoothie-making routine, try some of my other smoothie recipes.
A Keto Blueberry Coconut Smoothie is a classic recipe and my Keto Grinch Smoothie is perfect at Christmas. And a recipe that’s perfect all year long is my popular Keto Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie.
Pumpkin Smoothie
This isn’t just a pumpkin spice smoothie. I used real pumpkin puree in this heart, high-protein smoothie.
When you buy pumpkin puree, make sure that you get pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. The pumpkin pie filling is sweetened with sugar, which could kick you out of ketosis.
Pay attention to the almond milk and the Greek yogurt that you buy, too. Make sure you buy unsweetened, plain almond milk.
Vanilla almond milk will overpower the other flavors in the smoothie. And make sure you use plain and unsweetened Greek yogurt in your smoothie, too.
Sweetened Greek yogurt could also kick you out of ketosis.
Keto Pumpkin Smoothie
This is a high-protein smoothie that will help you build lean muscle and give you energy that will last, without the spikes and crashes. I boosted the protein content with some additional vanilla protein powder, too.
Use your favorite kind of protein powder, just make sure the flavors don’t compete with the flavors in the pumpkin smoothie.
To sweeten the pumpkin smoothie, I used sugar-free honey. This is sticky-sweet without any funky aftertaste.
There are other sweeteners that you could use in its place. Try it with a few drops of erythritol liquid sweetener or some sugar-free maple syrup.
What To Eat With A Smoothie
If you want to take your smoothie on the go, you can grab a homemade keto granola bar. If you want to eat something light with it, make some Keto Ricotta Pancakes.
They are so tasty that you don’t even need syrup. I also like to make a keto baked avocado egg with it too.
It’s high-fat and extra filling. And if you’re still hungry, make an easy keto breakfast sandwich.
Can You Freeze Smoothies
The best way to make your smoothie ahead of time is to pour the mixed smoothie into an ice cube tray. Then, all you have to do is add the smoothie cubes to your blender, add a touch more almond milk, and mix it up.
In fact, it’s easier and better to freeze the smoothie cubes than it is to try and store the smoothie in the refrigerator. If you try to save the smoothie in the fridge, it will start to separate, and the texture won’t be as desirable.
