What Are Sausage Rolls
Sausage rolls are basically fluffy rolls that are stuffed with ground sausage. They are a filling and you can eat them for lunch or they make a fantastic post-workout snack.
Each roll only has three grams net carbs, so there is plenty of room to eat them with your favorite dip or salad. These are the perfect things to pack in your lunch.
They taste just as delicious when they are hot out of the oven as they do when they are cold.
Keto Sausage Rolls
There are a few different ways to change up the sausage rolls so they taste differently each time. If you want them to be spicier, use hot and spicy sausage
You can also sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on the outside of the rolls to give them a pop of flavor.
I didn’t add any, but you could add a slice of mozzarella cheese to the middle of the sausage rolls. Then, they will be cheesy sausage rolls!
Fathead Dough Rolls
I relied on my favorite combination of almond flour, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese to make these rolls. This combination is also called fathead dough; people use it for all sorts of things.
I used it to make keto Hot Pockets and keto bagel bites. This combination gives you bread that is flaky and soft – not at all grainy or crumbly.
The secret to amazing fathead dough is to use almond flour, not almond meal. If you use almond meal, the roll will taste grainy.
How To Store Sausage Rolls
After you make the sausage rolls, store them in an airtight bag or food storage container. Then, keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days.
To make them last the longest, I suggest freezing them. Place them on a baking sheet in a single layer and put the baking sheet in the freezer.
Once they are frozen solid, place them together in a freezer-safe food storage bag. They will stay fresh in the freezer for up to 6 months.
What To Eat With Sausage Rolls
These tasty keto sausage rolls are an entire meal on their own! They will give you the boost of protein that your body needs.
For a little more color and flavor, serve a bowl of keto cucumber cauliflower salad with your meal. It will also taste delicious with some keto pumpkin breadsticks and some mashed cauliflower.
And if you want to serve sausage rolls with an entree, make keto everything bagel chicken skillet. They are also perfect for a soup and sandwich lunch.
Keto Sausage Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:
For the filling:
Natural pork sausage
Minced garlic
Large egg
Onion
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
For the pastry:
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Almond flour
Cream cheese
Onion powder
Baking powder
Large egg
Garlic powder
Xanthan gum
Instructions:
1. Place the cream cheese and mozzarella cheese into a bowl that is microwave safe. Heat for 30 seconds at a time until completely melted.
2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add in the onion. Saute until the onion is softened.
3. Add the garlic to the skillet, and saute for 30 seconds longer. Remove, and let the mixture cool.
4. Place the cheese mixture to a mixing bowl, and blend with the remaining pastry ingredients until a dough has formed. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
5. Mix the cooled onion mixture in a bowl with the sausage, egg and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
6. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
7. Roll the cooled dough out between two pieces of parchment paper, and cut into 8 evenly sized squares or rectangles.
8. Place a layer of the sausage filling down the center of each piece of dough, and roll the dough closed over it.
9. Layer the sausage rolls on a parchment lined baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 Onion chopped
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil

- 1 cup Almond Flour
- 2 ounces Cream Cheese
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum
