Chicken Salad Pickle Boats
This is a fun and different way to enjoy a chicken salad! It breaks up the monotony of lettuce wraps or just eating it with a fork. I love the crunch of the dill pickle – and you will too.
These are so fun to make! If you have kids, they are going to want to make their own pickle boats, so make sure you have enough ingredients on hand to make them some too.
What You Can Make With Dill Pickles
These dill pickle boats are just one of the many things you can make with pickles. Did you know you can also make chips out of them? I love my recipe for keto pickle chips. They are a fun and low-carb snack.
Another fun and different way to eat dill pickles is to make low-carb bacon-wrapped pickles. They totally satiate any craving for salty foods.
Low-Carb Summer Lunch
Not only are these cute pickle boats the perfect lunch, but they also make filling snacks or fun appetizers. I love setting them out at parties. People look at them and immediately ask me for my recipe.
There are lots of ways you can make these pickle boats. Stuff them with egg salad, keto tuna salad, or even some garlic butter sausage. They are fun to use as finger foods and fill with your favorite salads. Personally, I think my avocado egg salad tastes the best inside the pickle boats – almost as good as this chicken salad.
Are Pickles Keto-Friendly?
Yes, pickles are one of the most keto-friendly types of food you can eat. Just stay away from sweet pickles or any type that is made with added sugar. Dill pickles are usually sugar-free.
Low-Carb Boat Food
Making food into boats to hold other types of food is a really easy recipe hack that lends itself to a lot of creativity. There are so many different ways you can create boats out of food.
Cut a zucchini and make it a boat – fill it up with cheese, ground sausage, and your favorite spices.
You can also use foil to create a boat and fill it up with your favorite types of meat and veggies. Sausage broccoli foil packets are easy and delicious!
Budget-Friendly Chicken Salad
Save money on groceries and use canned chicken instead of cooking fresh chicken. It doesn’t just save you money, it saves you time too! The other ingredients in this recipe are budget-friendly too!
Have fun with this recipe and add your favorite toppings. Try it with crumbled bacon or feta cheese on top. You can also drizzle with hot sauce or a few diced tomatoes! Talk about easy!
How To Store Chicken Salad
Since this is such an easy recipe to put together, I suggest storing the chicken salad separately from the dill pickles. Then, when you are ready to eat the pickle boats, you can grab a pickle and make them.
Store chicken salad in an airtight container. They will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
