This BLT salad is filled with more ingredients than just bacon, lettuce and tomato! It has steak, avocado, and a creamy vinaigrette.
Chopped Steak Salad
The best way to elevate a salad from delicious to irresistible is to use a variety of different flavors and textures together. And that’s exactly what I did in this delicious steak chopped salad!
I added soft avocado and juicy tomatoes on top of a bed of crispy lettuce and then added some savory and crispy bacon. You’ll actually start craving this salad!
But the best part of this salad is the tender, juicy steak! You can fry or grill your steak fresh or use leftover steak from other recipes.
This is a perfect way to use leftover garlic herb ribeye steak or keto pepper steak.
BLT Salad
All of the ingredients in this healthy salad are easy to find at the grocery store. But, let me encourage you to go to your local farmer’s market and buy whatever is in season.
Tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado all taste better when you buy them local and fresh! And don’t leave out the bacon! That’s the best part.
In fact, I like to buy thick-cut bacon because I get more flavor in every bite. Just avoid maple-cured bacon when you’re on the keto diet.
You can even use turkey bacon if you prefer it.
Keto Steak Salad
What is the best kind of steak to eat on a chopped salad? Well, you want it to be tender and easy to chew, so be prepared to spend a little more money on a good quality steak.
Something like sirloin, filet mignon, or ribeye. And avoid stew meat or top round. These need to be cooked for a long time over low heat to tenderize the meat.
As delicious as this salad is with steak, you can choose to leave it out without ruining it. This salad will still taste delicious without steak.
Top it with shredded chicken or pork loin. The dressing and ingredients will also taste incredible if you add some flaked salmon on top for the protein.
Have fun and be creative.
What To Eat With Salad
Since this salad is topped with steak, it’s completely filling for your lunch. Serve it with something light, like a creamy soup.
The sweet and tangy dressing and ingredients in the salad will taste perfect with a bowl of keto Cajun Chicken and shrimp soup. Or for something less spicy, eat it with a bowl of keto broccoli cream soup.
Not in the mood for soup? Then go with the salad and sandwich idea.
Instead of a sandwich, make some delicious keto roll-ups with the salad. Keto sausage lasagna roll-ups are delicious.
You can also make keto empanada rollups or keto ranch cream cheese chicken and veggies roll ups.
How To Store Salad
In order to enjoy this salad later on in the week, store the dry ingredients separately from the dressing. And don’t peel or add the avocado until right before you eat the salad. The avocado will turn brown.
Instead, store everything except the avocado in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to three days. Store the salad dressing in a separate container.
You can eat it on different types of salad, too!
