With festive red and green vegetables, this creamy keto Christmas salad belongs on your dinner table. It’s easy to make ahead too!
What Is Christmas Salad
Whether you’re cooking for a huge family holiday meal or you just want to include the colors of the season in a lunch for yourself, this salad is perfect any time and for anyone!
A Christmas salad is basically a salad with green and red vegetables. The colors look beautiful on your holiday dinner table. And this salad is so easy to make, that you can whip it together last-minute. You’re going to love this easy holiday side dish!
Christmas Ingredients
I didn’t use any ingredients that are specifically Christmas or holiday-themed. I just kept the colors of the salad red and green to match the holiday colors.
Ingredients that are often associated with Christmas are cranberries, peppermint, and anything with cinnamon or chocolate. If you want to garnish this salad to make it look even more festive, add some parsley sprigs on top with dried cranberries.
Keto Christmas Salad
The best thing about this creamy holiday salad is the sweet and tangy dressing. Save this recipe so you can make the dressing again!
For the dressing, I combined mayo with sour cream and sugar-free honey. You can also make extra dressing and put it in a small bowl with some chopped veggies.
It makes a perfect dip that everyone will love! In fact, I think I like it more than ranch dressing.
What To Eat With Salad
This is a hearty salad, but it isn’t super filling. You’ll need to serve it with a main course. I suggest serving it with either keto TikTok protein lasagna or some keto TikTok chicken cobbler.
You can also keep it simple and serve it with a steak or keto pan seared garlic rosemary pork chops. In fact, rosemary is another holiday herb, so it will be perfect.
If you want a light lunch, then eat this salad with a bowl of Low-carb shepherds pie soup. It will also taste perfect with some Keto scalloped zucchini.
For dessert, make keto pumpkin zucchini bread or Keto pumpkin spice scones. Pumpkin is the perfect holiday ingredient!
How To Store Salad
I usually recommend storing the salad separately from the dressing, but this salad is made without lettuce! So, go ahead and store the salad all mixed together.
Mason jars are my favorite way to store salad in the refrigerator. Place all of the ingredients in layers in a mason jar and screw a lid on them so that it keeps the air out.
These mason jar salads will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to three days.
