Sausage Skillet 

Very few recipes are as easy and effortless as a creamy sausage skillet. My family loved my Creamy Keto Tuscan sausage skillet recipe a lot, but they weren’t a fan of the roasted red peppers.

So, I reworked it a little bit and created this recipe! Instead of red peppers, I used fresh cherry tomatoes. I also added fresh basil to kick up the aroma and grated parmesan cheese to give it a richer flavor. 

Try both recipes and see what you think! This creamy sausage skillet recipe has a classic Italian taste and a rich broth. You’re going to love it! 

Sausage and Spinach 

Using fresh spinach gives this recipe both pops of color and a boost of nutrition. Spinach is high in fiber, antioxidants, iron, and a great source of vitamin C, too.

I love to make a lot of recipes with spinach in the winter months, just when my family needs that immune system boost. Trust me, use fresh ingredients as much as possible.

Fresh basil has a lot more flavor and aroma than dried basil. And fresh garlic is a lot more pungent than dried powder or jarred minced garlic. 

Easy Sausage Recipe 

This is the perfect meal for busy weeknights. All you do is chop everything up and cook it in the skillet. Dinner is so easy and so fast!

While on the keto diet, I would serve this with cauliflower rice or palmini noodles. If you have family members that aren’t eating keto, you can add this creamy recipe on top of regular pasta or rice.

Or serve it like it is! This is a very filling recipe. 

What To Eat With Smoked Sausage 

Creamy sausage skillet is a filling entree and you don’t need much on the side. Make some keto-loaded ranch roasted cauliflower.

It will make your dinner a lot tastier and more filling. After that, you can either make bacon-wrapped asparagus on the side or keto potato salad with cauliflower. 

Definitely make some keto garlic knots to go with the veggies! There are 5 grams net carbs in each serving of creamy sausage skillet, but that’s enough carbs left over to enjoy a keto garlic knot or two.

Keto Creamy Italian Smoked Sausage Skillet Ingredients

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil 
  • Smoked Sausage
  • Butter
  • Garlic 
  • Cherry Tomatoes 
  • Fresh Basil 
  • Spinach 
  • Heavy Whipping Cream 
  • Chicken Broth 
  • Parmesan Cheese 
  • Italian Seasoning 

Directions

Cooking sausage in a skillet

Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the sausage in the heated oil until browned. Remove and set aside.

Drain the excess grease from the skillet, and reduce the heat to medium. Melt the butter in the skillet. Stir in the tomatoes and spinach, and saute until the spinach is wilted.

Add the garlic, and saute for 30 seconds. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy whipping cream, stir to combine. Simmer until the sauce begins to thicken.

Stir in the Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste if desired.

Return the sausage to the skillet, and toss to combine well. Serve garnished with fresh basil before serving.

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 28 ounces Smoked Sausages sliced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic

  • 4 cups Spinach raw
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
