This keto cranberry white cheddar dip strikes the perfect balance between rich, sharp cheddar and the tart sweetness of fresh cranberries.
Cranberry Dip
Cranberries are the fruit of winter! Not only do they look like Christmas (the bright red colors remind me of ornaments), but they taste like the holidays, too.
There are so many different ways to cook or bake with them. I’ve used them to make low-carb cranberry Christmas cake and low-carb sweet and savory cranberry chicken.
This time, I decided to use the sweet and tart cranberries in a beautiful (and delicious) cheese dip. The idea came to me when I saw someone add pepper jelly to cream cheese to make a dip.
I thought, why not add a cranberry sauce to a cheese dip? I perfected the recipe and it’s so good that you can’t stop eating it!
White Cheddar Dip
One word of caution. This dip tastes so delicious that you might be tempted to eat it until you feel full.
This recipe makes six servings and there are six grams net carbs in each serving. That’s quite a bit of carbs for an appetizer or snack but with the right kind of planning, you can get it to fit in your macros.
The secret to the perfect consistency is to use a combination of cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and shredded white cheddar cheese. Together, they make the dip just thick enough for your crackers but thin enough that it won’t break them.
Oh and the tangy flavors that it has are unmistakable. You’ll love every bite!
Keto Cranberry Dip
To get the best flavors out of the cranberries, I suggest using fresh ones. Not only will they have the best texture, but they’re also lower in net carbs than dried cranberries too.
And be sure to use Swerve confectioner’s sugar substitute to sweeten the cranberries. No other sweetener will have the same flavor or effect on the cranberries as this confectioner’s substitute.
Don’t forget to use fresh thyme, not dried. The dried thyme will be too tough and won’t have nearly the same amount of flavor or aroma.
Keto Dippers
This sweet and cheesy dip tastes delicious with any raw veggies that you want to use. Try it with some cucumbers, celery, radishes, or even raw cauliflower.
Want more ideas? Homemade keto cheese crackers are a perfect choice or use some low-carb pizza crisps.
Bell pepper slices, carrot sticks, and pork rinds are all great choices, too. Or grab some low-carb crackers from the store.
How To Store Dip
This is the perfect dip to make ahead for Christmas parties because it will melt beautifully when you warm it up on the stove. Leftover cranberry cheddar dip should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
For the best results, eat it within three days.
