This vintage creamsicle Jello salad has a healthy twist – cottage cheese! It’s a sugar-free orange salad with bursts of citrus!

Creamsicle Jello Salad
In the midwest, they use the term salad very loosely. There are so many different types of marshmallow or jello salads that people in other places might call a dessert.

And all of them tend to have some kind of fruit in them. I took the midwest jello salad and made it keto-friendly (and higher in protein, too).
Just like other midwest salads, this creamsicle jello salad could be a dessert, too. It has five ingredients (and no real fruit).
It tastes like creamsicle ice cream. So if you’re craving an orange sherbert or something sweet, then this is the recipe for you.
Cottage Cheese Jello Salad
The creamsicle salad is made with cottage cheese, so it will have the curds in it. I think the cottage cheese curds give this salad a fun texture.

But that’s because I love cottage cheese! If you aren’t a fan of cottage cheese curds, then put it in a food processor or blender and pulse it until it’s nice and smooth.
In fact, if you puree the cottage cheese, this jello salad will taste more like a dessert I call “fluff.” I usually make fluff desserts with cream cheese because it’s so rich (and the texture is incredible).
My favorites are my low-carb cherry chocolate cheesecake fluff and my low-carb blueberry fluff.
Sugar-free Orange Jello Salad
How do you eat a creamsicle jello salad? There are a few different ways that you can enjoy it.

Spread this on top of a slice of keto toast and eat it for breakfast. Or use it as a filling for a keto-friendly pastry.
But I think my favorite way to enjoy it is to drizzle it with keto-friendly white chocolate and eat a bowl of it for dessert. The white chocolate will make it taste even sweeter, so be prepared for that!
Oranges are high in natural sugar (and carbs) I only used them as garnish.
What To Eat With Jello Salad
The sweet flavors of this creamy jello salad will taste good as a breakfast or a dessert. If you’re serving it for breakfast, then I suggest eating some keto breakfast roll-ups with it.

It will also taste good spread on top of some keto cottage cheese bagels. If you want to serve it for dessert, then I have a few recipes you can make first.
How about a bowl of keto jalapeno popper chicken cucumber salad? Or make keto french onion chicken and broccoli skillet for dinner first.
Both are savory and filled with tons of flavor that will taste refreshing with the jello salad.
How To Store Jello Salad
In order to enjoy the jello salad later on in the week, place it in an airtight food storage container and keep it in the refrigerator. You might have to give it a quick stir, just in case some of the ingredients start to separate.

Everything will stay fresh for up to three days. Do not try to freeze it.
When it thaws, the texture will be completely changed.
