Switch up your Chinese food and try this tasty low-carb kielbasa lo mein. The sausages fry up perfectly and add salty flavor to the peppers and pasta.

Kielbasa Lo Mein
Let’s mix things up a bit! Anyone can order chicken or beef lo mein from takeout, but what about kielbasa?

This smoked sausage is unique, but also really versatile. When it fries, it gets a tasty sear on the outside.
And you can find it in a bunch of different flavors and varieties. So when you add it to your favorite lo mein recipe, it takes on all those flavors and enhances them.
Kielbasa lo mein is as bold and spicy as you make it. You can choose to use mild ingredients and keep the flavors muted or use some spicy ingredients for a bunch of heat!
Keep reading and I’ll show you how to take this simple recipe and add your own little twists.
Low-Carb Lo Mein
While the Palmini noodles and kielbasa taste perfect together, it’s the mixture of vegetables that really changes the flavors. I used white onion, red and green bell peppers, ginger paste, garlic, and chopped green onions.

If you want to really bring out the flavors even more, use red onions and add some jalapeno or habanero peppers.
Fresh ginger will have a stronger aroma than ginger paste, too. But I prefer to use ginger paste because it’s easier (no chopping) and the paste mixes in better with the rest of the ingredients.
The lo mein sauce is also one you can use as a marinade for chicken, pork, or beef if you want.
Keto Lo Mein Noodles
I used Palmini noodles because they are low-carb, tasty, and react really well to being fried with the onion and bell pepper in the skillet. I also love how quickly they cook!

They come in a can and are already pre-cooked, so you just have to heat them up. I used Palmini noodles before when I made Low Carb Chicken Chow Mein.
But if you don’t want to use Palmini noodles for any reason, there are other options. When I made Low-Carb Chicken Zoodle Lo Mein I used zucchini noodles.
And when I made Easy Keto Lo Mein With Shrimp I used Miracle Noodles. Miracle noodles remind me of ramen, so keep that in mind.
Low-Carb Chinese Food
Since this recipe has the protein, noodles, and veggies, it’s a perfect entree for your Chinese food dinner. Serve it with your favorite Asian-inspired low-carb recipes.

I have a few favorites I’m happy to share with you.
Start out with a fan favorite, my keto egg roll in a bowl. Everyone says it turns out perfectly the first time and every time after that.
For something lighter, make egg drop soup. And Keto Crab Rangoon Casserole tastes just like the deep-fried snacks.
My Keto Seafood Salad tastes like the kind at the Chinese buffet. And Keto TikTok Salmon Sushi Nori Cups give you that satisfying crunch of seaweed!
How To Store Lo Mein
This is the perfect thing to add to your weekly meal prep. Store it in an airtight food storage container and keep it in the refrigerator.

Eat it within 3-5 days. It’s easy to reheat. You can do it on the stove or pop it in the microwave.
I don’t recommend freezing the lo mein. Yes, it’s possible, but it will change the texture of the noodles too much and since this recipe only takes like 25 minutes to make, freezing it won’t save you much time.
